Cave Carson Has A Cybernetic Eye #9 DC Comics Young Animals
If I ever get the opportunity to meet Jon Rivera and Gerard Way, I want to ask them about the conception of this story. I am willing to bet some form of “certain substances” are involved. This is a madcap chase through dimensions that still manages to make a certain amount of sense. Both good guys and bad guys are struggling to win and the story has that classic feel of desperation. We are all running out of ammo, the vehicles are not in great shape, we keep losing teammates and we may be able to make it through one last time cave. In all honesty, this is a bit of a nail biter.
I give it an 8 out of 10.
Doctor Who 10th Doctor #3.6 Titan Comics
Nick Abadzis begins a wonderful new storyline that has aspects that are deeply entrenched in Doctor Who lore. The idea that the Doctor has secret safehouses throughout the universe. The idea of dropping a companion off to attend a secret meeting. The verbal give and take between Doctors! (Yes! I said DOCTORS!) Little hints that seem to confirm my theory that it was David Tenant’s version of the Doctor who became the Valeyard. And with the talented help of Giorgia Sposito and Arianna Florean, the regular art looks great and the sketchbook art looks better. Definitely the way a Doctor Who adventure should begin.
I give it a 9 out of 10.
