GRIMM FAIRY TALES 2018 COSPLAY SPECIAL     ZENESCOPE

A wonderful flashback to the golden age of Zenescope books. A time when the sultry cuties on the covers also showed up on the inside! With a cosplay oriented 8 pager to set the tone, the rest of book is dedicated to a collection of character art done by some of the finest Zenescope art staff. This is a fond remembrance of what put Zenescope on the map. I give it a 9 out of 10 Grahams.

PLASTIC MAN #2     DC COMICS

Gail Simone and Adriana Melo continue the good work they did in issue #1. WEel’s ties to the underbelly of life continue to offer a unique backstory of everyone’s favorite flexable fellow. And it’ll be interesting to see what (if anything) DC will do with this Golden Age great after Gail 6 part epic closes down shop. I give I an 9 out of 10 Grahams.

THE FLASH #50     DC COMICS

I know I’ve been highly critical of this title and especially this storyline. But in the big finale ending, Joshua Williamson manages to pull it out of it’s slump and introduce a new era in the Flash Universe. It was also nice to see the Jay Garrick and Max Mercury Speed Force shadows. This final part of the current storyline effectively lays out the plot points for the next rotation of Flash creative staff. I give it a 7 out of 10 Grahams.

DOCTOR WHO 10TH DOCTOR #1     TITAN COMICS

A terrific little one-shot that reminds us what is was about David Tennant’s Doctor that had everyone going mad. The storyline is short and straight to the point. The Doctor’s ability to immediately determine the problem and never bother to share is highlighted here This just acts as a little reminder of what came before as we make our way to a new series featuring the 13th (again, I have to call Shenanigans on the numbering system!) Doctor. I give it an 8 out of 10 Grahams.
