HARLEY QUINN #50 DC COMICS
Good ole fashion storytelling, a well worn plot device, and a revisit to the golden days of the Multiverse make this 50th issue something to celebrate! Cameos and visiting celebrity guest artists and colorists give us a veritable potpourri of variety! And that Justice League Multiverse … oh man! Let this one take you back down memory lane! I give it a 9 out of 10 Grahams.
MATA HARI #5 DARK HORSE/BERGER BOOKS
The amazing tale of Mata Hari comes to its bittersweet end. Beeby, Kristantina, and Masioni could not have picked a better story to tell. Because the main tragedy here isn’t in the way she died (or lived for that matter) but is all of the betrayal and ill will she was forced to suffer. Our creators have done a magnificent job of spotlighting this woman’s career. I give it a 9 out of 10 Grahams.
ENCOUNTER #6 Lion Forge Comics
Six issues in and we have a new hero and villain introduced along with a villain secret new origin. As Encounter fights with the evil Deconstructinator, but accidentally changes him into the Reconstructinator! Disturbing and really time consuming in typing. It’s titles like these that prove that a quote-unquote kids book isn’t an enjoyable read for comic readers of all ages. Caracal Publishing really knew what they were doing when they turned this title over to the genius talents of Baltazar, Franco, and Giarrusso. Take time from your busy DC/Marvel schedule and go dip your toes in the little backyard pool that is Encounter. I give it a 9 out of 10 Grahams.
