The first comic I ever read was Web of Spider-Man #87, which was part four of an ongoing storyline involving the Rose, the Kingpin’s son, Hobgoblin and some random reporter harassing Peter Parker’s Family. I had absolutely no idea what was going on but I was immediately obsessed with Spidey and his world. My nine-year-old mind was completely hypnotized by the weirdness of it all: the colorful villains, the misfit hero, the crazy adventures and the underlying idealism. I started ravenously collecting and annoying my parents and everybody else I knew with every fact I knew about the Marvel Universe and still do to this day.
