BATMAN #65 DC COMICS
Reading like a hard-arse copy of Brave and the Bold, having Bruce Wayne and Barry Allen trying to keep it together while obviously both on the verge of flipping their lids is actually a bit of a hard read. The other hard part is knowing that Gotham Girl is way past the point of no return and trying to talk her off the ledge is a moot point. With Barry coming to the realization first, it makes Bruce’s moments even more pathetic. You begin to wonder if indeed, all of Bruce’s talk is for his own guilt. The problem here is what exactly is going to get revealed here as it crosses over in event is still going on? I give it a 7 out of 10 Grahams.
EXORSISTERS #5 IMAGE COMICS
An interesting storyline continues thanks to Ian Boothby writing and artist Gisele Lagace’s unique artwork style. I am especially intrigued by the backstory of Kate. A terrific little twist to the sell your soul deal. A title most assuredly worth checking out. A bit of fun just not where you thought you’d find it. I give it a 9 out of 10 Grahams.
HOT LUNCH SPECIAL #5 AFTERSHOCK COMICS
Eliot Rahal and Jorge Fornes’s little tale of gangster life in the world of restaurants and food comes to its epic conclusion. And while leaving the door open for a sequel, this is a wonderfully contained story. This is a bit of a brutal one but totally believable. This title was a story that both creators had an assured love of the project. I give it a 9 out of 10 Grahams.
