DOCTOR WHO COMICS #1 TITAN COMICS
Anytime a Doctor or two have a get together, you can always count me in. However, this go around seem like a bit of sell out. Making it appear that the only reason to have the initial crossover a few monthes ago was to set up the backround for this story. Bringing David Tenant (one of the most popular of the newest Doctors) in to interact with his/her current self again appears to be a “Wolverine in every super group” cash grab. It also make a full blown time travel sci-fi geek wonder if the cure to the paradox will be worse than the cause (I know, I know, everything will work out for the best in the end.) Having the two Doctors who caused the paradox trying to fix it seems a bit dicey. That being said I am happy to see the return of the Sea Devils. And while they look good thanks to Roberta Ingranata’s interpretation, they come off a bit generic. Switch out the Sea Devils for any other alien race (Sensorites, Zarbi, etc.) and the story so far works equally well. Hopefully, this one gathers some steam. I give it a 6 out of 10 Grahams.
CAPTAIN AMERICA #25 MARVEL COMICS
Wow, issue 25 already?! It seems like just 2014 (or was that 2007, or 2004, or 2000, or 1943) that I saw a Captain America #25 hit the stands. And while this issue #25 fall somewhere inbetween those other issue #25s, it is Anthony Falcone and Michael Cho’s backup story that makes this issue. The friendship shown in flashbacks between Steve Rogers and Sung Jin Jeong is truly inspiring and well thought out. And for 10 pages, I got to sit in that funeral parlor and listen to Captain America remember his friend and remind me that in anything in life you never really win but unless you give up, you can never truly lose! I think I said that right, anyway this one is defiantely worth the read. I give it a 9 out of 10 Grahams.
