COMIC BOOK HISTORY OF ANIMATION #2     IDW PUBLISHING

Picking up where issue 1 left off, learn how the loss of Felix the Cat in legal limbo opened the door to a certain man named Walt and his new creation. Learn how loose change can make you a better artist. And most importantly, learn how not to piss Uncle Walt off! Well researched with plenty of side trips down unproven legends, this story has it all. The word history in the title is the focus here. I give it a 9 out of 10 Grahams.

DETECTIVE COMICS #1033     DC COMICS

A finale for the current storyline so that DC can move into their next big thing, Future State. This whole issue is one big blow out battle with Hush. Really not a lot I haven’t seen before. Alfred dead … been there. Bruce Wayne moves out of stately Wayne Manor … done that. And while it was nice to see Bat-Cow and Ace the Bat-Hound again, the only thing that grabbed my attention was the fact that Damion’s outfit is starting to look like that of the Golden Age Robin circa 1960’s-1970’s! But you know what they say about what you wish for. Although I found little new here, watching Bruce drive off into the sunset while a blurb for the upcoming Future State comics popped up doesn’t fill me with inspiration. I give it a 6 out of 10 Grahams.
