BATMAN SCOOBY-DOO MYSTERIES #2 DC COMICS
Switching time periods and layouts, we join the gang as they meet with a more modern version of Batman with a red suited Robin in a more animated Batman Adventures style. However, writer Sholly Fisch still handle the story well. Humor abounds with the gang up to their usual antics. And it still features one of the most irritating features of any Scooby-Doo Batman mystery. Why does Velma always beat the World’s Greatest Detective to the vital clue?! If she’s that good, why doesn’t Batman make her the new Oracle or give her a cowl? Just sayin’. I give it an 8 out of 10 Grahams.
RED SONJA THE SUPERPOWERS #5 DYNAMITE ENTERTAINMENT
So let me get this straight. An epic battle between Vampirella and Red Sonja that spans the entire issue. Red gets some epic new tech armor. And it ends on an ultimate cliffhanger for a future title?! I am so calling shenanigans on this! But before I go down that dark road, let me just point out that while Red’s new tech armor is cool, it totally takes away from the classic Red Sonja. Now, when I first heard about this mini-series, I believed that after some interactions with the Superpowers Group, Red would return to her natural habitat and get back to slaying evil wizards and drunken brusiers. Not that she would be entering into some other unholy “Next Big Thing” event?! Not even a title announcement or a availability date. What was the plan here guys? Two five issue mini-series to end without any sort of conclusion until someone can come up with a Crisis epic? Totally left disappointed. I give this a 3 out of 10 Grahams.

This final issue brings us up to the current day with coverage on Pixar and touches on the world of Anime. As always, the research done here is top notch and filled with interesting and somewhat humorous insights as to this brave new computerized art world. And as always when one of these series ends, it leaves me wanting more. That’s the sign of a great book, it leaves you wanting more! I give it 9 out of 10 Grahams.
