THE FLASH #776     DC COMICS

Jeremy Adams continues to delight and highlight his writing skills by going full blown gimmicky with this issue. Dr. Fate introduces the Flash to his readers in a brilliant breaking the fourth wall moment that lets us the readers control the story. Fernando Pasarin shows that his art skills work whether the page is sideways or upside down. This one is a true anything goes installment and should be checked out. I give it a 9 out of 10 Grahams.

CATWOMAN #37     DC COMICS

While I hope that someday that Gotham City and all of it’s inhabitants can go back to a simpler time before overwhelming master plans and destroying the infrastructure mandates became the norm, Ram V’s story reminds us of what those inhabitants can do when stuck in a corner. While we see the finale of the Penguin’s master plan and the Riddler’s master plan, this is a tale of the people and the parts they play in Gotham. While I am sick of the Fear State, and the double-double crosses, this was a quaint little reminder that even the secondary and even tertiary members of the Gotham City family matter. And while Yanick Paquette & Nathan Fairbairn’s cover is exceptional, I don’t believe I got anything so epic inside the book. I give this one a 7 out of 10 Grahams.
