Two Floors, Thousands Of Stories!

Go west, young man.  That’s the advice given in 1806, and that’s the advice we’re giving you today.  Out on the frontier, you’ll find the rootin’ist, cartootin’ist comic store of them all, Graham Crackers Dekalb.

‘It’s bigger on the inside’

Important things to know when you’re coming to the store:

Their entrance is on the upper floor, two doors down from Domino’s Pizza.

There IS parking in the back, and it is almost always closer to the entrance than the main parking lot.

There are a lot of things that set our Dekalb store apart, but the first one is a biggie, a two story biggie in fact.  They’re two two TWO floors of fun (essentially six floors of fun by that math).  Just when you think you’ve only found an incredibly good comic shop, you’re likely to hear someone ask “Is this your first time in?  Well, then, let me let you know that we’ve got a staircase right over here and you’ve only seen half the store.”

‘The’ in case of stares’ staircase’

Let’s take a walking tour, and we’ll answer your questions along the way.

“Do they have graphic novels?”

Boy howdy! Dekalb has over three full bookcases of Manga, four bookcases of DC, four bookcases of Marvel, and three bookcases of Independents.  That should seem like enough, but they’ll do you one better with multiple rolling racks of oversized graphic novels, a wall of specialty and archive books, and a five dollar selection as well.  I guess technically that would do you three better at that point.

“Wow, that’s a lot” you might be saying.  “They probably don’t have room for anything else, right?   Like, they certainly don’t have room for over 500 individual comic titles for new books.”

Wow. What a specific number. Great question, btw.  It turns out, Dekalb DOES have over 500 spots for new comics between their Marvel, DC, and Independent racks.

They also offer our great company wide subscription service, where you can have monthly comics pulled for you.  They just need to know what you’re looking for, and are happy to take you through that ENTIRELY PAINLESS process.

“That’s a lot of options so far.  Maybe you could just tell me the rest of what they carry.”

Sure, happy to do that. Let’s finish off comics first. Our Dekalb store has over 120 boxes of back issues (older comics we’ve priced) and they need both floors to make them all fit. That’s over 30,000 older books to fill in the gaps in your collection.  If they don’t have what you’re looking for, they’re thrilled to have the chance to check our other locations for you.

They’ve also got a good sized collection of Display Books, some graded, some not. All across the top of the store upstairs and downstairs, you’ll find some comics of note!

In addition to all those comics, Dekalb has one of our largest selection of action figures, specialty toys, statues, prop costuming, and so much more.  Marvel, DC, Star Wars, GI Joe, Alien, Predator, Godzilla, science fiction, horror, new and vintage. Let me tell you, we’re going to include a ton of photos here, and that’s not going to do their selection justice.

I wanna be Magneto, a Biker Scout, Black Panther, Cobra Commander, an X-Wing pilot, Leatherface…

They’ve also got a Funko selection that really pops!:

Speaking of little things with big eyes, Dekalb has an expanded all ages selection- comics, books, graphic novels, little golden books, tons to choose from!:

Whew, we’re exhausted.  That’s just so much stuff.  I’m glad we’re at the end of this.Wait.A.Tic- I’ve just been handed an urgent and important message

Dekalb also has a giant selection of board games, role play gaming, collectable card games, miniatures, and dice!  Yes, our Dekalb store has one of our best selections for all things gamey except quail and venison. They carry D & D, Magic The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh, Pokemon, Heroclix, and more!  They even run MTG Tournaments- Draft- Thursdays at 6:30 pm, casual commander Friday at 7:00pm and Saturday at 2:00pm, and pre-release tournaments when new sets are dropping!

Our Dekalb store also has a mostly friendly staff who would almost certainly never write an article in the third person just because they can, would they Kevin?

Do they also have a selection of posters, magnets, prints, magazines, thousands of $1.00 comics?

So get in the car.  Drive out to Dekalb. Walk the stairs. Tell your friends. We think you’ll be glad you did.
