GREEN HORNET MISS FURY #1     DYNAMITE ENTERTAINMENT

Finally Dynamite start to return to the stories and characters from the Project Superpowers Era. A time when obscure Golden Age heroes could interact with Pulp Noir characters in epic tales. And what better way for this team up to happen than over a series of hero killings! With the Silver Shrike in hiding and Mr. Q attacked and in the hospita, both heroes follow the leads and keep bumping into each other. As always, writers Alex Segura and Henry Barajas know their way around a gritty detective story and Federico Sorressa’s art enhanced by Lesley Atlanksy’s color pallet add an eerie look to the tale. Glad to see Dynamite returning to the old days. 9 out of 10 Grahams.

SECTAURS #3     ONI-LION FORGE/NACELLEVERSE

And so, the King has returned. The Prince has overcome his doubts and bonded with Dragonflyer and restored an uneasy peace with the Dark Domain. What secrets did the Ancients hide in the Hyves? What adventures await the Warriors of Symbion? And who could not love the battle cry final page call to action? And while we end on “The Beginning”, this is the last issue of this Nacelleverse series. Nacelleverse Year One continues with Power Lords #1 coming soon to your LCS. It’s titles like these that make me wonder how the creators of the original toy series would think of this in-depth history of their characters? With the exception of the Great Garloo, I was too old to appreciate these action figures when they first appeared on the pegboard hangers at the Toys R Us. But I do remember them and I think these titles do a good job of representing the toy lines that spawned them. 8 out of 10 Grahams.

CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS #10 FACSIMILE EDITION    DC

By this point in the series there was no doubt that George Perez was the absolute master of over crowded panel art! From the cover to the last page, this issue was simply bursting with cameos galore! And while the villains of multiple earths tried to take advantage of the chaos, Uncle Sam gave our heroes a heart-filled speech as they gathered to lead the assault against the Anti-Monitor. And in the past of the Green Lantern Corps, Luthor lead a group of villains on a secondary attack to stop Krona for accidentally creating the Multiverse. Which would all lead to the ultimate arm wrestling match between the Spectre and the Anti-Monitor. Villains tortured heros and other villains alike while death filled page after page! DC had finally emptied their Multiverse of tertiary characters faster than a mission with the Suicide Squad could. And while none where as gut-renching as Supergirl and Barry Allen’s Flash, they were still breath taking. Some of the DC stable that met their end were Psimon, Tula-the Aquagirl, one of the multiple versions of Starman, Immortal Man, The Loser, Mirror Master, the Icicle, Maaldor all met their ends in this one issue. And in the end, all their effort proved useless as the Multiverse shattered as the Spectre screamed and we end on a white panel filled with shattered glass bits of the Multiverse. Which left all of wondering, what the heck was DC going to fill the pages of issues 11 & 12? For better or worse, we’d find out the following month. And while the artist team of George Perez & Jerry Ordway overwhelmed us, I couldn’t help but wonder what kind of planning nightmare poor Marv Wolfman had gone through as both writer and editor. A true tour-de-force! 10 out of 10 Grahams.
