THE THREE STOOGES STOCKING STUFFER #1 AMERICAN MYTHOLOGY
Good natured holiday fun with those classic knuckleheads! From wrapping presents, to decorating the house, to acting as guardian angels, the boys manage to turn each chore into a cacophony of laughs! Quite literally an excellent stocking stuffer for all ages! A definite must for for all Stooge fans both young and old! This one gets an 8 out of 10 Grahams.
AVENGERS FOREVER #1 MARVEL COMICS
For those readers who have been following along for the past few years of various storylines and mini-series, this is definitely the “Next Big Thing”. Unfortunately, for the casual reader, you quickly realize that you are going to do some serious catch-up to be able to make sense of this one. However, the creative team of Jason Aaron, Aaron Kuder, Cam Smith, Jason Keith, and Triona Farrell know how to start off a new book! As the scarred, bloodied, skinned, and burnt body of Odin creates a new version of Mjolnir! And while it’s not pretty, it is visually appealing. Then we just dive straight into the multiverse chaos that seems to be the cornerstone of way too many books these days. With a car driving Ghost Rider (motorcycles are cooler!), a Deathlok that looks like he’s wearing part of a bleached William Shater mask showing up in a barren universe where the Avengers appear to be a really robotic Vision, a female Moon Knight, a crystal version of Ben Grimm, and an Omac Ben Boxer version of Wonder Man. This Mad Max/Thunderdome universe has some interest but way too much backstory for the casual reader. Couldn’t help myself however, once I saw the Scarlet Witch variant cover in person though. I’m giving this one a 6-1/2 out of 10 Grahams.
