VAMPIRELLA #8 DYNAMITE COMICS
Don’t get me wrong. Paul Cornell and Jimmy Broxton are great at what they do. But after an interesting start, the story on this new take on the character is all over the road and I frankly am lost. Plus the fact that in the previews and ads for this issue, I was kind of hoping to get a sort of Ilsa meets Killer Klowns from Outer Space meets Vampirella. I basicly got none of that. Time to call it a day with this one.
I give this one 4 out of 10.
DOCTOR WHO 10th DOCTOR #6 Titan Publishing
The backstory on Captain Jack comes to life in the new story arc. The who’s, what’s, and why’s come out into the light as we see what drove Jack to go rogue. A very interesting storyline ending on a very interesting cliffhanger! Again, it’s good to see the fine folks at Titan giving Christopher Eccleston’s Doctor getting the treatment he deserves.
I give it 8 out of 10.
WONDER WOMAN ANNUAL #1 DC Comics
This year’s annual starts out strong with Greg Rucka’s amazing take on the first meeting of DC’s Big 3. The story is filled with humor and an interesting message at the end. The rest of the tales are enjoyable but just can’t follow that opening act. Although I will admit that Collin Kelly and Jackson Lanzing’s shout out to Monster Island did make me chuckle. Still worth checking out though.
