I usually use my blog entry to highlight my favorite thing in comics:  gimmick variant covers!  For this one, my focus shall be on one of my absolute top gimmicks: chromium covers!

5) Walking Dead #100 / Invincible #100: Big surprise: Robert Kirkman is a big fan of the 90’s.  Unsurprisingly, he must also love the gimmick covers of the 90’s since, to celebrate the 100th issues of each of his biggest creations, he included special chromium covers for both Walking Dead and Invincible.  Though in some way, both are somewhat boring covers in my opinion, the chromium treatment makes it a must buy.  And right now, our Graham Crackers website has the Walking Dead #100 chromium cover for only $30!  Someone may want to snap that one up, before it shuffles away!

4) Generation X #1: If you were like me in the 90s, you just couldn’t get enough X-Men!  Even with already buying many X titles at the time, I was mad ready for yet another team with characters new and old.  Generation X was basically the next generation of New Mutants, so there was no way I was gonna miss buying this book and they made sure by making it a chromium cover.  Who’s that guy with the exploding face!?!  I gotta get this!  And for a mere $6, it can be yours off the GCC site!

3) Superman #82: A late part of the epic Death and Return of Superman, I remember seeing this in the supermarket and having my mind blown!  Superman has returned, hair a bit longer, ready to destroy the Cyborg Superman!  Simply awesome 90’sness!

2) X-Men Omega: The finale of Age of Apocalypse! John Romita Jr cover, given the chrome treatment, wraparound!  Magneto vs Apocalypse!  What is not to love!

1) X-Men Alpha: Of course, the beginning of Age of Apocalypse!  Does it get more 90’s than this? You had no choice but to be drawn in: new versions of classic characters, all new characters, and chromium to put it over the top.  And you can get the X-Men Alpha/Omega combo off the GCC site for just over $10 bucks.  How do you not already own these?  Get them now!

Bonus terrible chromium cover: Spider-Man Maximum Clonage Omega.  Taking jumping the shark into maximum overdrive, we were given Spider-Man Maximum Clonage Omega.  Ugh.  One of the longest, most unwanted and unliked Spider-Man stories of the 90’s reached its terrible conclusion, and given a very busy, muddled, overall unmemorable chromium cover.  Only suggested for purchase off the GCC site for $5.50 if you just can’t get enough chromium covers in your life and need every one you see.  So in other words, you better beat me to the site and get this before I do!
