This is the last stop on the Great Graham Crackers Comics Tour is the Sandwich, Illinois location. Located just off downtown Sandwich near the end of West Center Street, tucked behind a lovely yellow house, resides the Graham Crackers Warehouse. Also referred to as the Website! While we’ve been around for a while hiding in the Plainfield basement, we jumped at the chance to stretch our legs, finally see the sun, and have our own space. And we are nearing our two-year anniversary in Sandwich! It’s gone by so quickly.
While not an official storefront, we are still a location where customers can stop by and pick up their comics. Whether you are local or just passing through, we will always make sure you are welcomed! In our front room, some treats and free comics are always available for new readers while we pass off any orders that are ready for pick up. The manager is usually fielding calls and emails and is always ready to greet newcomers and oldcomers alike! Don’t ask her who her favorite comic character is, or you’ll never hear the end of it.
Towards the second portion of the warehouse is our packing room. This is where our staff double, then triple check orders to make sure there are no damaged or missing books before getting them packed up and sent off to their new lovely homes, or to our sister stores. We take packing very seriously as we don’t want any books to arrive in any condition, we wouldn’t take home ourselves. In the same room you can find staff also chipping away at postage. Once we get those labels printed, our customers will get notified when they can expect their next shipment of good reads! 
Further back we have our unpacking room. This is where we unpack all the newest books week after week! Our staff unpacks and checks through all the books, separating damaged books from the rest so we can report those to get replacement copies in. This is arguably one of our most important steps, so we take great care going through them. We could be checking in anywhere between four to six hundred books every week! After they are all checked in, we pull the books for the orders. Those complete orders go to the packing room to be checked twice, then packed, then postage, then they are off to their destination.
For orders that are not quite ready to ship out, we hold in our designated subscriber boxes. We go through and process all the books for each individual to make sure those books can’t be damaged, then we hold them until our subscribers are ready to ship. Once ready, they are pulled out and ready to be packed up! It’s that easy!
We also house tons of older books, supplies, and trades throughout our warehouse. Whenever stores are looking for books that they may not have, we will pull them from our stock to make sure their customers don’t have to wait long shipping periods to dive into a great story or get the much-needed supplies to make sure their current collection is pristine. Unfortunately, you won’t find any statues, pops, or fun toys here. Pick one of our amazing sister stores to visit for those!
